Wild Life Safari: Sri Lanka’s most popular national park, the Yala National Park is situated just twenty five minutes away from the bungalow. Known for its elusive Leopards one can also find other mammals found frequently at Yala including ,Elephants, Sri Lankan sloth bear, water buffalo, Indian wild boar, Sri Lanka spotted deer and Sri Lanka sambur. A jeep can be arranged by the bungalow staff for your safari and could be hired for approximately LKR 4,000/-.
Also a visit to the Bundala National Park, which is famous for migrant birds during the European winter is half hour away on the Kirinda – Hambantota road.
Other places of interests include a visit to the famous Katharagama Temple (28KM), a short drive to the town of Tissamaharama will provide you the opportunity to explore an ancient capital city of Sri Lanka with monuments, temples and irrigation systems that date back to the 2nd century BC., and a visits to Kirinda temple (1.5 km), Sithulpahuwa Rock Monastery (35 km) and Nimalawa Arannaya (Rock monastery-1km) are also possible.
